I finished work early today YAY... and popped into my mum's for a cup of tea before having to pick Cam up from daycare. Paris calls me on my cell phone at 3.25 in hysterics, because she couldn't find Josh anywhere - he wasn't at school, or at home... I got her to calm down, and left mums in a big rush to collect Cam and head home to find Josh
at 3.35 another call from hom eon my cell, this time its the school secretary {in my messy kitchen} calling to say that Josh had injured himself at school 2 mins before the bell rang, and that he couldn't weight bear on his foot at all... they had called Ian, and he had asked them to call me, but they were calling the home phone not my cell, and the kids aren't allowed to answer the home phone if I'm not there, so Paris left it to ring out...
So I race home after picking up Cam, load Josh and Paris into the car and head off to the local A&E... they give him pain relief and send us off for x-rays, as their x-ray technician had finished for the day, so we had to go somewhere else, then back to the A&E for a looksie at the x-rays...
Josh has broken his growth plate in his foot {which is a major} and is currently in a moon boot. We have to take him back to A&E tomorrow to have boot adjusted, then back in 10days time for appointment with orthopediac surgeon. If the bone isn't healing right in the moon boot, then surgery will be required {so a pin can be inserted}...
oh how I hope the moon boot does what it should

Sorry...
I've been a bit absent lately... and it's not that I don't love my blog anymore... it's just that I'm so darn tired in the evenings, that blog writing is too hard...
and then last night - when I finally had some energy, I went to blog, and my new laptop wasn't playing nice with blogger... infact very slow to load it etc, so I gave up.
I'm writing this wee apology from work - as I can access blogger here {for how much longer, I don't know} so thought I'd better let you all know I'm still alive lol
Catch up soon... I promise xx

Support a great cause
one of the lovely ladies from Cheeky Monkey posted an awesome link today. So great, I wanted to make you all aware of it...
13 year-old cancer survivor Ruby had major surgery in October 2006 to remove a 1.6kg tumour from her liver and spent 12 months at Starship Hospital undergoing intensive chemotherapy treatment.
For the last three years Ruby has raised money for Starship by selling her wonderful tea towels
This year’s edition features a delicious Starship “Gingerbread Friend” recipe and is screen printed onto a thick 100% cotton tea towel.
The tea towels retail for $10.00, and $6.00 (which is all the proceeds after costs) from the sale of every tea towel, will go to Starship.
So head on over to Ruby's Tea Towel and place your order, before they sell out... I'm getting a couple for x-mas pressies :)

at the moment with my blog, is that everytime I scroll down a little box from photobucket, saying "this video or photo has been either moved or deleted"...
Now I find this really frustrating, cause there is nothing on my blog, that comes from photobucket!!! grrrrrr
Vent over... as you were people :)

Bieber Baby
I'm not sure if you are up with the play on Justin Bieber or not, but he's a pretty big hit with Paris in this house... she LOVES him... she has gone all "bieber" on me lol...
But I have in the last couple of days heard Cammy singing these words... "baby, baby, baby, oooooooo" now I know it's cute and all... but still... does my "baby" really have to be beiberfied too!!

My baby, No longer
Today is Paris's 11th birthday...
It still feels like just yesterday that I was holding my darling 6lb 2oz baby girl in my arms. I can still remember her first word {mama}, her first tooth {4mths 2wks 4days, 2 at once}, her first solids {potato and gravy *oops* - bad mummy moment}, her first steps {9mths 3wks}...
of course there have been many firsts since then... first day of school, first wiggly tooth, first scraped knee, first hockey goal...
and there are many more firsts to come - some I'm excited about - first bra, first day of intermediate and highschool, and some I'm nervous as heck about - first period, first boyfriend, first broken heart...
parenting doesn't get easier as they get older... the problems and firsts just change...
*sigh*
love you my baby girl... wish I keep you this size forever... xx

Recipe: Chocolate Crackle Ice-Cream Cones
Ingredients:
- 2 cups marshmellos
- 1 tablespoon cocoa powder
- 3 cups coco pops
- 6 ice cream cones {to be honest - I used 13)
- 100g dark chocolate, melted
- 100's and 1000's to decorate
- Place marshmellows into a large microwave safe bowl and microwave on high for 30 seconds
- Stir. Repeat heating if necessary. Marshmellows should be fully melted
- Stir in cocoa powder and coco pops. Refrigerate for 30 minutes
- Divide mixture into 6 portions {as above - I got 13 portions}. Roll each portion into a ball
- Place one ball firmly on each ice-cream cone and refrigerate for 30 minutes or until firm
- Spoon Chocolate over "ice-cream" and sprinkle with 100's and 1000's. Return to the refrigerator for a further 5 minutes or until chocolate has set
my niece and the mixture just before popping into the fridge for the first setting
Cammy and the "ice-creams" just as they are heading to the fridge for the 2nd setting
The finished product - mmmm they look yummy!
Tasty tip: Lightly spray your hands with cooking oil spray to stop the mixture from sticking to your hands when rolling it into balls

Little miss so and so...
It appears that as Paris gets closer to turning 11 {1.5weeks} her attitude is becoming worse... as is her laziness... we are having constant battles about both...
I'm kinda at my wits end... and this really is just the beginning isn't it... god - if this is 11 what the heck is 16 gonna be like???
I think, I'm going to go and bury my head in the sand for the next, say, um 6-8 years... that oughta get me through this testing time shouldn't it???

Going Away
I'm going away for the weekend... for no other reason, apart from the fact that I miss my best friend who lives in another town... I miss her, so I'm gonna go invade her house this weekend :)
Of course, I'm taking Paris and Cam with me {Josh will be at his mums, and Ian has work Saturday and will play golf on Sunday}
I'm really excited even though I only made the plans to go away today :) I will leave straight after work tomorrow, so should be at her place in time for dinner

Kids in the Kitchen...
My kids love helping out in the kitchen... We have one meal that they can make without any adult assistance... it's the ever so yummy Chicken Pasta... a firm favourite in our house...
Doesn't it look wonderful!! The kids do so well making this meal... and there is hardley ever any left over for my lunch the next day...

Time off...
You may or may not have been aware that I had 4 days leave from work last week... 4 days to myself... It was heaven...
I bought some fabric, went op shopping with Kelly, stacked some Firewood and got some lovely flowers
During the week, I make some pretty big decisions which will change how we do some things in house, but all change is for the best...
yup all in all, I had a pretty good week... even my in-laws coming to stay last night didn't bring me down :)

Flowers...
I love getting flowers delivered to me... doesn't everyone? Sadly it doesn't happen very often... So imagine my surprise when there was a knock on the door on Tuesday, and I opened it up to find a flower delivery guy standing there with a bunch of flowers for me!!
It was my birthday, so I automatically assumed they were from Ian... good thing I read the card first before ringing him to say thanks cause they were actually from my work :)
