NYE 2012

New Years Eve....

It's always a great time to look back at the past 12mths and reflect on things you have achieved, lost, etc etc..

2012 was a huge year for us...

There were some sad times...

• Lady June Blundell {Patron of St John Youth} died... I loved Lady B very much and will miss her dearly
• One of the hockey mum's who I was very close with, died suddenly leaving behind a great man and 3 amazing kids aged 12 and under
• My Besties sister was diagnosed with Cancer

And some great times...

•  Me and Ian got engaged!
• Me and Ian bought a house!
• We all moved into said house!
• Me and Ian then spent 10 long weeks commuting Paris and Josh across Auckland to finish out the year at school
• The highlight of the year - Me and Ian got married in a lovely beach ceremony which was everything we wanted and then some

Over all... we had a great year... I dont' think any other year can even come close to topping 2012... see you all in 2013

Excitement +++

today I get to see my best friend Mel for the first time since October 2009!! I'm so super duper excited... I can hardley contain my excitment... She fly's into Auckland at 11am!!! I will be heading off to her sisters house for a catch up shortly after midday...normally I would be at the airport to meet her, but I have to make a birthday cake for my niece before I can leave the house :)

You see, Mel lives in Switzerland... she moved there when we were still teenagers, but our friendship has never died, infact, I believe that it is stronger now than ever... I think of her every single day... and today... I get to hug her! I can't wait!

Married...

Yup... I'm officially an old married women :)

The wedding was so many different shades of perfect! I am sitting here still in awe of how smoothly everything went on the day...

Photo's will still be a few days away, but I promise to post some as soon as I can.

18 Days to Go!

And I'm 99.9% ready... I've organised so much... and if I've forgotten anything, then it obviously wasn't very important :)

Last week I picked up my wedding dress... that's really when I stopped and though "WOW only 3 weeks to go!" It honestly hadn't hit till that point, so I spent the weekend stressing about seating plans, because that was the last "big" thing I had to do. 

Tomorrow night I will have a catch up with my florist {who is also my friend} and we will sort out the flowers... {which we both know what flowers, it's a matter of nutting how many etc etc....}

I do try hard to get on here with updates, but life is so very busy at the moment, and I'm worried I will bore you all to death with wedding updates lol

Labour Weekend

hehe if I was pregnant {which I am most definately not} then that title would be a good one for making people think they would be reading about a new baby...

BUT no... I"m writing about the Long Weekend known as Labour weekend...

It was awesome... headed up to the caravan {surprise surprise} on Saturday morning... Ian was working all day sat, so me and my mum on our own put the awning up... just the two of us... perfectly... better than the awning has ever been {and yes, the men in out lives told us the same thing}, however, it was hard work... and if Ian thinks he is gonna get out of it again next year, he can think again... lol

The weather was awesome... nothing like what they had here in Auckland... we had one rainfall... and it was in the middle of the night...

So, all in all a great weekend had by all..

Can't believe he is 4 already...

Cam turned 4 a couple of weeks ago.  I can hardly believe that it has been 4 yrs already since I first held him in my arms and kissed his chubby cheeks! 

The great thing about 4 yr olds, is they tell you what sort of birthday party they want, and Cam is no exception to the rule... and so... we had a Pirate Party

It was a whole heap of fun...we had a game of pass the parcel and a piniata... all the kids had a blast... and as usual Cam got spoilt rotten xx

So many changes

So not only have we just moved house... but I also just changed my job... and Cammy changed his Daycare... and Axel started daycare for the first time

yup - alot of new adventures for us...

I got sick of commuting to my job very quickly after the move, so looked for a new job... and found one straight away... so I moved to a daycare centre closer to home, and put Cammy and Axel into the same centre... It's only been 2 weeks at this job and daycare, but so far so good... I'm loving the people and the locality, and the boys have settled in really well.

It's that time of year again....

Cammy's Birthday!!!! this year he is turning 4, and was able to tell me exactly what sort of party he wanted! and boy oh boy... this has been the most fun party to plan ever...

Yup - thats right... a Pirate Party!! I have been going crazy buying things for the theme... but it's cost me bugger all, cause I've been able to find most of what I needed wanted at the el cheapo shops

all things vintage...

the wedding is only 2mths away!! and things are going to plan... the theme is vintage and I have so many cool ideas coming to life at the moment...

One of the biggest jobs I had to do, was to source enough of these jars for what I needed them for...

Thankfully I got all that I need... and them some... so I'm very happy... I love these jars so much and I can't wait to do what I need to do to them for the big day :)

I'm Sorry...

I've been so super duper slack with my blogging lately... although in my defence, the last couple of months have been very hectic for me...

So we moved house 4 weeks ago... into our first home... so exciting... we have spent a fair bit of the last 4 weeks setting up rooms, then re-arranging the rooms, then re-arranging them again... and on and on and on and on... but it's fun, and pretty much everything is now as we want it to remain :)

We are now saving up to do up our kitchen a bit, something we are both very much looking forward to doing...

Cam is a changed kid since the move... in the old house, his nightly routine was to climb into our bed and watch a DVD till he fell asleep... but in the new house, he hasn't even watched a single DVD... at all!! his new bedtime routine is to play a game of memory on the tablet, then climb into his top bunk, and go to sleep... we don't have to sit with him or anything... it's brilliant...

Axel is sleeping alot better also... see the boys are now in seperate bedrooms, it's making such a difference during the night... we love it!

Paris and Josh are tired... as we are commuting them all the way back to Mt Roskill {we live in Papakura} for school... but it's only till the end of the year, as we thought it would be better for them to remain in their school this year and finish year 8 then start fresh at a new school next year.

All in all - things are coming along nicely.

We are all moved in to our new house and settling in nicely, will blog more once i get my new computer (long story) as it's hard to post with the tablet lol

So today we went to the Martha's Backyard store in Mt Wellington. I found this awesome product and just learningHAD to buy it...

Basically it is a bath bomb the size of a small fizzy lolly that changes the colour of the bath First colour in was blue

Then we added a yellow one (the picture doesn't show it as good)

Which made green

The boys had more fun in the bath tonight than they EVER have... and all for $3.50

To Do List - August

• Scan all my pre-digital camera photo's onto the computer
• Back up my computer
• Buy a House
• Sort through Axel's clothes and remove from his drawers, all that are now too small 
• Go through the toys, get rid of all the too small baby-ish for the boys toys
• Sort through the nappy covers and throw out all the ones that no longer do the job properly
• Read the Fifty Shades Series
• Move house
• Contact phone, power, sky and let them know we are moving house
• Sell lounge suite
• Arrange helpers for moving day
• Arrange a truck for moving day

Review: Dettol Scrub 'n' Wipes

I was lucky enough to be asked to review this new Dettol product - Scrub 'n' Wipe.  With 4 kids running around my house, messing it up, putting their sticky fingers all over everything, I jumped at the opportunity.

The wipes arrived on the same day that my darling mr nearly 4 decided to put his Transformers stickers all over my wooden coffee table... and I couldn't get them off... at all... so I pulled out a wipe, and using the "rough" side, I managed to wipe {with NO scrubbing} all of the stickers off... then, I just flipped the wipe over to the "soft" side to give my coffee the BEST clean it has ever had - and let me tell you, I clean that puppy 2 or 3 or sometimes 5 or 6 or even more times a day! Since receiving this product, I have been using it every evening to clean my coffee table.

Also - we just bought a house, which means we also just gave notice on our rental property... I used this product to clean our 2 showers and they also look better than ever... the downstairs {kids} shower especially, I have been worked on getting that shower nice since we moved in, as I swear, I don't think the previous tenants EVER cleaned it... After using the "rough" side of the scrub 'n' wipes, it looks awesome... I finally would be willing to have a shower in the kids bathroom lol

My kitchen looks great now also - this product is awesome on ALL surfaces, my stainless steel sink and taps, my cheap kitchen cupboards, my benchtop, my whiteware - it all sparkles...

Since reviewing this product, I have run out, and bought more :) I highly recommend it to all...

It's smells nice, without leaving a lingering smell.  I have not suffered any reaction to it, and my skin reacts to LOTS of stuff.  And, it's easy to use.

I wish I had some photo's to post, but unfortunately as I am moving, photo's are pretty low on the priority list at the moment.

Because I am so super duper excited... I just want to talk about our NEW HOUSE all the time...

did I tell you guys, it's got 5 bedrooms?? yup you read that right, 5!!!! bedrooms!!!!

And the worlds biggest linen cupboard???!! {ok prob not the WORLDS biggest, but the biggest I've ever seen}

Absence...

I've been a bit absent from my blog... I've not gone far... I have a few posts up my sleeve, but I'm pretty busy...

see... we bought a house... yup, a house...eeeekkkkk

we settle on 17th August, and move on the 18th August... thats less that a month away... I have to pack... a whole house... 4 bedrooms and a toyroom... 4 kids and 2 adults... and I still have to go to work... still have to cook/clean/run around after kids... am still planning a wedding... AND I have a review or two to do also...

So... I wont be around too much in the next 3-5 weeks...
